A completely synchronized 75 Ohm digital cable.
The majority of manufacturers of Digital
Cables for Audio System S/PDIF Format(RCA to RCA connection) utilize standard analog RCA male
connectors readily available on the open market. While all of these connectors of variable
quality and price are fit for use in analog sound systems, their impedance value does not
conform to that associated with the requirements for a 75-Ohm cable for a digital system.
Typically, the impedance value of analog cables ranges between 30 and 50 Ohm.
This impedance mismatch at the “connector-cable” joint ultimately leads to a number
of undesirable effects (e.g. RF discontinuity, “parasite” resonance, detrimental multiple
signal reflections inside the cable, etc.) that, in turn, reduce sound quality.
Various compensation methods for restoring the quality of the distorted signal are not very
effective. The impedance of the “cable-connector” joint is not capable of reproducing its
original undistorted value (similarly, a professionally restored automobile after an accident
will never be as good as it was prior to it).
Bestcables.net’s Ruby Digital is equipped with 75 Ohm RCA connectors specially designed for digital
applications. These connectors along with a 75 Ohm HF Digital Coax Cable provide conditions for
transmission of an undistorted signal. A GND return wire of the cable provides a continuous
ring-shaped GND contact with the connectors. This is one of the most important factors for
complete synchronization of the Coaxial Digital Cable.
The cable is also equipped with an external RF/EMI filter that provides an additional means of
suppressing detrimental electromagnetic effects.
These design details result in this product being the best truly DIGITAL cable on the audio market.
